Catherine ‘Kay’ Traficante
Catherine “Kay” Traficante, 82, of Butler, formerly of Penn Hills, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2024.
She was born Sept. 18, 1941, in Pittsburgh, the daughter of the late Hilary Ehalt and Mary (Campbell) Ehalt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael A. Traficante; sister, Edith Lioi; brother, Richard Ehalt; and sister, Helen Ward.
Kay was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother who took great pride in caring for her home and gardens. She enjoyed providing care for the neighborhood children. She very much enjoyed her volunteer work at Saint Peter Child Development Center, working with mentally challenged children. Kay cherished her time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Linda (Joe) Westover of Monroeville, Dee (Tom) Hyatt of New Cumberland, Pa., Sandy (Jeff) Cumming of Irwin, Pa., and Michael (Michele) Traficante of Mountain Top, Pa.; her grandchildren, Kevin (Lori) Westover, Leann (Derek) Longenecker, Andy (Kirsten) Hyatt, Jeffrey, Kaitlyn and Jenna Cumming, and Kailee and Emily Traficante; her great-grandchildren, Aiden, Rylie, Julia and AJ; her sister, Carole McGonigle of Penn Hills; her brother, John (Maureen) Ehalt of Sedona, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews.
TRAFICANTE — Friends of Catherine “Kay” Traficante, who died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2024, will be received from 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, 2024, at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER OF CONNOQUENESSING TOWNSHIP, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. at Butler County Memorial Park.
