Donald Lee “Don” Houpt, 85, of Grove City, formerly of Gibsonia, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Jan. 28, 2024, at Grove Manor, following complications from a mini stroke.

Don was born in Pittsburgh, on April 28, 1938, to Charles E. “Chick” and Dorothy (Haberlein) Houpt.

He was a resident of Gibsonia before moving to Grove City 10 years ago to be close to his sister, Linda (Houpt-Maxwell) Fierst.

Don was a graduate of Hampton High School in 1954 and a member of Hampton Presbyterian Church.

He owned and operated Houpt Lawn Care in Gibsonia, and he worked for various individuals and businesses in the area.

Don enjoyed his time living at the Pines within Grove Manor the past several years.

He is survived by his sister-in-law, Marjorie Houpt; a nephew, Darryl (Denise) Houpt; two nieces, Elaine Maxwell Egbert of Fredonia, Pa. and Julie Maxwell (Donald) Fleck of Grove City; two great-nieces, Ashley (Darryl Jr.) Armstrong and Emily Fleck; a great-nephew, Trevor M. Egbert; two great-great-nieces, Bella and Alaina Armstrong; and a brother-in-law, Walter Fierst.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Charles “Charlie” Houpt; a sister, Linda (Houpt-Maxwell) Fierst; a nephew, Loren Houpt; and a nephew-in-law, William “Bill” Egbert.

HOUPT — A private family celebration of life service for Donald Lee “Don” Houpt, who died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2024, will be held with a dinner following.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.
