‘Romeo and Juliet’ is Butler County Symphony’s first performance of 2024

The Butler County Symphony Orchestra's first performance of the year is Sergei Prokofiev’s “Romeo and Juliet,” set for 7:30 p.m. Feb. 3 in the Butler Intermediate High School auditorium.

The performance highlights music from Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Russian Easter Overture” and Reinhold Gliere’s “Concerto for Harp.”

Guest conductor is Cuban-born Grammy-nominated musician and conductor Andrés Cárdenes. The concert features his daughter, harpist Isabel Cárdenes, a student at Manhattan School of Music.

Andrés Cárdenes is a professor of violin at Carnegie Mellon University School of Music. He also is artistic director of Carnegie Mellon University Philharmonic.

From now until Feb. 2, a ticket sale is being offered: Buy one ticket at regular presale price and get a second ticket half off.
