Rock basketball sweeps Clarion

SLIPPERY ROCK — Trailing by as many as 10 points, the Slippery Rock University women’s basketball team rallied for a 62-60 victory over Clarion on Wednesday night at Morrow Field House.

The win marked the first in the PSAC West this season for The Rock (2-12, 2-9), Clarion slipped to 0-18 overall, 0-12 this season.

Regan Atkins paced SRU with 23 points and 10 rebounds. Endya Robinson score 24 points and grabbed seven boards . She had three steals as well. Gabby Jackson had 10 points and KIaylin Venick five assists.

Sadre‘a Rougeau lerd Clarion with 15 points.

SRU (men) 64, Clarion 54 — Ike Herster scored 21 points and Maceo Austin contributed 19 points, six rebounds and three steals as SRU (9-9, 6-5) won for the fourth time in five games. Clarion fell to 6-12, 4-8 with its fourth straight loss.

Lashon Lindsey had 10 points and 10 rebounds for The Rock. Luke Howes had four steals.

Jeremy Thomas led Clarion with 18 points and 14 rebounds.

Both SRU teams return to action Saturday afternoon at Indiana (Pa.).
