Constance Rinker
Constance “Connie” Louise Rinker, 92, of Monaca, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 21, 2024, while in hospice care at Grove Manor, Grove City.
Born in Rochester, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Frank Phillips and Elsie Kaminski Phillips Ramage.
A lifelong Monaca resident, Connie graduated from the Monaca High School, Class of 1949. She then accepted the secretary to the principal position at Monaca High School and retired from that position in 1967 after 18 years.
She married the love of her life, William “Bill” Rinker, on Feb. 20, 1954. Together, they enjoyed camping, golfing, fishing and going to the stock car races at various speedways.
Her greatest joy in life was the time she spent with her grandkids, attending their high school, junior and eventual college golf tournaments. She traveled endlessly to watch them play, and even carried “birdie cookies” for good luck. Her evenings were spent watching tennis and talking to her granddaughter about “The Bachelor” or “American Idol” shows. Her grandson took up tennis because of her love of watching the tennis channel. She was also an avid Pittsburgh Penguins fan.
She will be sadly missed by her son, Marty Rinker (Joanie) of Slippery Rock; and her two grandchildren whom she passionately adored, Jenna (C.G.) Mercatoris of Grove City and Brett (Claire) Rinker of Cave Creek, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, in 2011.
The family would like to thank the staff at Grove Manor and AHN Hospice for the care she received during these past six months.
RINKER — There will be no visitation for Constance “Connie” Louise Rinker, who died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2024. Burial at Sylvania Hills will be private.
