Rockets top Greyhounds

Slippery Rock opened up a 22-4 lead in the first quarter and cruised to a 59-22 boys basketball victory at Wilmington on Friday.

Josh Book tallied 16 points, Anderson Franco added 11 and Levi Prementine 10 for the Rockets (8-5).

Girls Basketball

Adah Fuller scored 18 points and Karlee Buterbaugh added 10 Thursday night as Knoch defeated Deer Lakes, 57-20, in girls basketball action.

The Knights improved to 8-6 overall, 3-3 in section play. Knoch led 41-12 at halftime.

Freeport 62, Valley 14 — Brooke Kmetz led the Yellowjackets with 15 points. Morgan Croney added 11. Freeport had a 39-8 lead through two quarters.

Ameria Simmons led Valley with seven points.

Seneca Valley 52, Bishop Canevin 24 — Makayla Canty paced the Raiders with 14 points. Seneca Valley improved to 11-4 on the season.

Rifle

Butler was involved in a close match with Mt. Lebanon on Thursday, winning by the score of 798-69x to 798-60x.
