Prospect fight between 2 involved hammer, EMS worker punched
State police said a fight between two men in Prospect resulted in one being injured by a hammer and an EMS worker being punched Friday, Jan. 12.
Eric J. Mulneix, 58, of Fayetteville, and Dean A. Convery, 54, of Prospect, were both charged Saturday with felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor simple assault after agreeing to fight, according to documents.
Police said the men “entered into a mutual consent fight” around 9:30 p.m. Friday. During the course of the fight, police said Convery took a one and a half pound masonry hammer and hit Mulneix twice in the head.
Mulneix suffered two cuts to his head that required medical treatment, documents showed.
While being transported by Portersville/ Muddy Creek EMS, police said Mulneix punched a medical worker in the chest, causing bodily injury.
Preliminary hearings in this case have not yet been scheduled.
