Knoch girls roll past Derry Area

Adah Fuller scored 19 points and Karlee Buterbaugh added 14 as the Knoch girls basketball team raced past Derry Area, 51-16, Thursday night.

Fuller sank four treys. The Knights (6-4, 2-1) led 35-6 at halftime and 49-8 through three quarters.

Jane Huss led Derry with seven points.

The Knights return to action Monday at Greensburg Salem.

Norwin 58, Butler 26 — Amelia McMichael led the Golden Tornado with nine points, but Butler (2-9) dropped its seventh straight game.

Berger paced Norwin with 14 points. The Knights outscored Butler 24-3 in the second quarter to pull away.

North Catholic 62, Greensburg Salem 35 — Alayna Rocco scored 22 points for the Trojanettes, who led 23-6 after the first quarter.

Brady Wehner contributed 20 points, including three treys, while Sarah Loughry netted 13. Kait Mankins led Greensburg Salem with 15 points.

Armstrong 78, Mars 70 — Emma Paul scored 45 points — sinking 10 treys — for Armstrong. Sydney Weaver added 18 points.

Mars took a 55-54 lead into the third quarter, but could not grab the victory. Vita Vargo and Carmella McDole scored 17 points each for the Planets while Alexis Cashdollar added 12.

Seneca Valley 56, Hempfield 51 — Natalie Hambly scored 20 points, sinking four treys, as the Raiders (9-2) won their eighth straight game. Emmerson Peffer scored 11 points.

A.Hosni and S.Bodkul scored 13 points each for Hempfield.

Seneca Valley hosts Pine-Richland on Monday night.

Boys Basketball

Trey Fleming scored 22 points as Union defeated North Clarion, 58-51, at home. Dawson Camper netted 16 points and Hayden Smith 12.

Ethan Carll scored 15 points for North Clarion.

Swimming

Season Grant won the 50-yard freestyle and 100 backstroke as Slippery Rock rolled to a 112-48 victory over Sharon.

Raely FaJohn won the 100 freestyle for the Rockets while Mollie Massella won the 500 free. Slippery Rock also won the 200 and 400 freestyle relays.

The Rocket boys dropped an 82-49 decision, but got wins from Kevin Bowser in the 100 butterfly, Grant Kingston in the 100 freestyle and Cody Hartle in the 100 breaststroke.
