Benjamin Franklin Museum

Of note: The Benjamin Franklin Museum explores the life and legacy of Philadelphia’s most famous citizen. Located in Franklin Court and part of Independence National Historical Park, the museum invites visitors to explore a variety of interactive exhibitions, personal artifacts, computer animations and hands-on displays, examining Franklin’s life both as a private citizen and a statesman.

Espy House

Of note: The Espy House, built of stone in 1771, is a national historic landmark and was a hot spot of activity in Pennsylvania during The American Revolution. In 1794 President George Washington used the house as his base of operations to help calm a local uprising during the Whiskey Rebellion.

Fort Ligonier

Fort Necessity National Battlefield

Of note: Fort Necessity National Battlefield covers the story of the battle of Fort Necessity on July 3, 1754. This battle is the opening battle of the French and Indian War and leads to a worldwide conflict that sets the stage for the American Revolution. The fort is the site of George Washington's first military encounter and his only surrender.

National Constitution Center

Of note: The National Constitution Center is the first and only museum dedicated to the U.S. Constitution. Through interactive exhibits, rare artifacts, and live theater, it brings the Constitution to life for visitors of all ages.

Valley Forge National Historical Park

Of note: Valley Forge National Historical Park is open year-round, has no entrance fees, and welcomes around two million visitors each year. Historic buildings, statues and monuments and 35 miles of trails can be found in this beautiful 3,500-acre landscape.

Washington Crossing Historic Park

Of note: Washington Crossing Historic Park offers more than 500 acres of American history, natural beauty and family fun. The park preserves the site where George Washington crossed the Delaware River and turned the tide of the Revolutionary War.
