Zelienople to host first ‘Mini Makers Market’
Zelienople will host its first “Mini Makers Market” on Thursday, Sept. 19, as part of the Open Air Market.
This event will give youngsters ages of 5 to 13 a chance to show off their artistry, creativity, entrepreneurship and craftsmanship, and make a few bucks in the process. Patrons will find handmade bracelets, cat and dog toys, and custom wood art, among other items.
When the event was first announced Aug. 23, there were 30 slots open to young entrepreneurs. Those slots filled within days.
“We’re excited to provide a platform for our young makers to share their skills and creativity with the community,” said Sara Rice of the Zelienople Rotary.
The Mini Makers Market can be found at the intersection of East New Castle and Main streets, across from the Della Terra restaurant, and is open from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
The Open Air Market on Thursday will be the second-to-last of the 2024 season in Zelienople, but Rice said she hopes the Mini Makers Market can be a recurring event.
