State police, Butler

Dec. 9 — A 15-year-old Butler girl was taken into custody after leading police on a vehicle pursuit in Butler just after 2 a.m. from New Castle Street to Broad Street, where she struck a curb, which disabled the vehicle, police said. All occupants of the car fled on foot, and the driver was taken into custody following a brief chase, police said. Butler police reported that the vehicle had been reported stolen from outside the owner’s home in the city, police said. Police indicated that the driver was cited for a traffic violation.

Dec. 22 — Cindy Schroder, 58, of Butler was charged with a felony count of possession of a controlled substance by an inmate and other charges after controlled substances and a smoking device were found in her belongings that were searched when she was lodged in the Butler County Prison, police said. Court records indicate she had been wanted on bench warrants issued last year for alleged probation violations in a 2021 resisting arrest case and a 2020 simple assault case. She is jailed in lieu of $25,000 bail.
