Ruth M. Mushinsky, 92, of Mars, formerly of Gibsonia, passed away peacefully into glory on Thursday evening, Dec. 14, 2023.
Born in Pittsburgh, on Feb. 5, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Anna Janik Ziringer.
She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph W. Mushinsky.
Ruth was the loving mother of Carole Olszewski (Don) of Saxonburg; and mother-in-law of Shelly Mushinsky of Butler. She was blessed with four grandchildren, Aaron Mushinsky (Andrea), Faith Strickland (Michael), Sarah Cushey (Jeremy) and Ashley Belton (Andrew); her nine great-grandchildren, Aveley, Adalyn, Taylor, Kaelyn, Curtis, Jerah, Landon, Brayden and Cameron; her in-laws, Dorothy, Lois, Anna Marie and Frank (Patricia); her nieces and nephews who she adored; and her former daughter-in-law, Diane.
Ruth was a homemaker whose home was full of love, where all were made to feel welcome. She was a kind, caring and generous person who always tried to find the good in everyone. She was a gifted singer. She sang in the choir for many years at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Gibsonia, and was also a member of the Gospelaires, a singing group that performed concerts sharing the gospel through song and testimony. She also sang at many weddings.
She enjoyed reading her Bible, watching Pittsburgh sports teams, movies, doing crossword puzzles and playing bingo with her beloved sisters-in-law, Lillian, Dorothy, Helen, Lois and Anna Marie.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Joseph F. Mushinsky; three sisters, Ethel Ganczak, Anna Mae Balantine and Lois Shephard; and a brother, Raymond Ziringer.
Ruth loved her family, friends and animals, but her first love of her life was her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
