Eckels

Patricia A. Stiger Eckels, 80, of Slippery Rock, passed away Sunday afternoon, Dec. 17, 2023, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born in Pittsburgh on Sept. 24, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Jerome W. and Margaret M. Burns Stiger.

She was a member of St. Faustina Parish. She attended Bible study at her apartment building.

Pat enjoyed activities with her friends and was secretary of the resident council.

She also enjoyed traveling to Benezette to see the elk.

Pat was retired from A.J. Meyers Bus Co., after 15 years as a bus driver.

Pat is survived by one son, William (Cari) Kessler of Cranberry Township; three daughters, Donna (Robert) Broome of Butler, Linda Spithaler of Seven Fields and Ruth (Sean) Dorrier of Harrisville; one sister, Peggy (Klu) Claus of Glenshaw; two brothers, Robert (Elaine) Stiger of Rochester and Jerome (Terri) Stiger of Chicora; nine grandchildren, Samantha, D.J., Matthew, Crystal, Laurissa, Erica, Kaileigh, Tori and Ryan; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her companion, Michael Petrakian; the father of her children, Terry F. Podvasnik; and a great-grandson.

ECKELS — Friends and relatives of Patricia A. Eckels, who died on Sunday, Dec. 17, 2023, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at A. CARL KINSEY-RONALD N. VOLZ FUNERAL HOME, 328 W. Main St., Evans City. A blessing service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

She will be laid to rest in Evans City Cemetery.
