Consolidated Communications announced Dec. 6 that it has doubled the availability of its Fidium Fiber service in Pennsylvania in 2023, which is now available to more than 28,000 local homes and businesses.

The company has expanded Fidium to 14,600 more homes and businesses in 2023 after completing construction on its all-fiber network across Butler, Armstrong and Allegheny counties.

Construction on the fiber-network began in 2021, and, in total, more than 370 miles of fiber have been installed by construction crews.
