Janet Sniezek
Janet Lee (Covert) Sniezek, 91, of Beaverton, Ore., passed away at Hearthstone at Murrayhill Senior Living, in Beaverton, Oregon, on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2023.
Born Feb. 2, 1932, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Wilbert and Edwinna (Wagner) Boyer.
Janet was a graduate of Butler High School. She was involved in many organizations in the Butler area through the years and owned a floral design company, “Naturally Yours,” until she retired in 1998. Janet enjoyed gardening, floral arranging and cooking. She moved to Oregon in 2016 to be closer to her daughter, but always felt her roots were in Pennsylvania.
She is survived by her two daughters, Cathy Tuma and Amy McVey; her two sons, David Covert and Paul Covert; her three stepsons, Daniel Sniezek, David Sniezek and Stanley Sniezek; her brother, Larry Boyer; her sister-in-law, Marilyn Boyer; as well as by her eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her two sisters, Doris Yough and Thelma Whiteside, Janet was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul W. Covert, whom she married in 1950, and who passed away in 1970; and her second husband, Edward Sniezek, whom she married in 1976, and who passed away in 2000.
SNIEZEK — Friends and family of Janet Lee (Covert) Sniezek, who died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2023, will be received from 10 a.m. until noon Friday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler. A funeral service for family only will follow immediately after the visitation.
Private interment will take place in Glade Run Cemetery.
