Emma Lou Knauff
Emma Lou Knauff, 85, of Zelienople, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2023, while under the care of Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Born on Dec. 28, 1937, in Lancaster Township, she was the daughter of the late Ira H. Bintrim and Pearl Druschel Bintrim.
Emma Lou retired from Mashuda Corp. after 49 years as an accounts payable supervisor. She was an avid card and game player who had a memorable laugh. She could whip up meals for impromptu family events with a minimum of three meats. She was also famous for her “Aunt Blue” iced tea, rivel soup and fruit snap cookies. Above all, she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren fiercely. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughters, Jodi (Dale) Kerr of Portersville and Tammy (Michael) Klein of Renfrew; her grandchildren, Cody (Tiffany) Kerr, Shaylor (Lauren) Klein and Bridget (Aaron Shaner) Klein; her great-grandchildren, Liam and Layla Kerr; and her many nieces and nephews.
Emma Lou was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Francis O. “Pete” Knauff; and her nine siblings, Jack, Darrell, Robert, Wendell, Raymond, R. Gene and Donald Bintrim, Velma Cleland and Dorothy Brandenburg.
KNAUFF — Friends of Emma Lou Knauff, who died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2023, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.
Additional visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church, 557 Perry Highway, Harmony.
Emma Lou will be laid to rest with her husband at Green Lawn Burial Estates in Butler.
Memorial donations may be made in Emma Lou’s honor to Zion Lutheran Church.
