Frank Morrone
Frank Morrone, 76, of East Deer Township, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, Dec. 10, 2023, with his wife by his side.
He was born March 10, 1947, in Harrison Township, to the late Frank and Dolores (Bennett) Morrone.
Frank lived the past 22 years in Natrona Heights, and prior to that Springdale. He was a fifth grade elementary school teacher for Apollo Ridge School District, retiring in 2003. He was a member of Oak Hills Christian Church, Butler, Pennsylvania State Education Association, Train Collectors Association and the Fort Pitt Train Association. Frank graduated from Slippery Rock State College. He was an avid train collector, enjoyed golf and traveling on bus trips.
Survivors include his wife, Kathryn R. (Gilliland) Morrone; his children, Ryan (Joey) Morrone of Gibsonia and Nicol (Rich) Stevenson of Adams Township. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Colin and Abigail Stevenson, of Adams Township; and his siblings, Ronald Morrone of Cheswick and Arlette Cochran of Lower Burrell.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Deborah E. (Kimmins) Morrone, in 2013; and sister, Nancy Yutes.
MORRONE — Visitation for Frank Morrone, who died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2023, will be held from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 7 p.m. Saturday in DUSTER FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, 347 E. 10th Ave., Tarentum, with his pastor, the Rev. Rob Gillgrest, officiating. Burial will be private. A celebration of Frank’s life will be scheduled at a later date.
The family suggests contributions to Oak Hill Christian Church, 100 Township Line Road, Butler, PA 16002.
