Rose Hnatko, 99, of Butler, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

She was born May 31, 1924, in Highfield, a daughter of the late Paul and Katherine (Philipchuk) Boss.

Rose had worked at Montgomery Ward in Butler and also was an investigator for the Butler Credit Bureau. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Lyndora, where she had baked and cooked pierogies and helped prepare funeral luncheons. She was also a member of AARP.

Surviving is her daughter, Patricia Ann Hnatko of Butler; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Hnatko, whom she married May 16, 1964, and who passed away Jan. 6, 2010; two brothers; and three sisters.

HNATKO — Friends of Rose Hnatko, who died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023, will be received from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday at GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.

Parastas services will be at 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, at Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 21 Evergreen St., Lyndora. The Rev. Yurii Bobko, pastor, will officiate. Interment to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Butler.
