Rep. Thompson diagnosed with prostate cancer
U.S. Rep. Glenn “G.T.” Thompson, R-15th, announced Tuesday, Dec. 5, that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
“While this diagnosis is a surprise, I feel well, and I will continue my work representing the people of Pennsylvania’s 15th district,” Thompson shared on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Thompson served as a representative for eastern Butler County from 2019 to 2023, following redistricting by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court in 2018.
According to the post, he was diagnosed following “a routine physical and subsequent tests.”
“I am grateful to my medical team, my family, everyone I work with and represent in Congress,” he wrote.
His faith and “eternal” optimism would guide him through treatment, according to the post.
“My faith in God is strong and I will tackle this head on,” he wrote. “I appreciate both prayers and privacy during this time.”
