Mary “Joann” Zentz, 73, of Butler, passed away at home on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2023, with her husband by her side. She was born in Kittanning on Oct. 4, 1950, to the late Stephen and Anna Mae (Walker) Kutch.

Joann graduated from Kittanning High School in 1969. She was a homemaker who enjoyed collecting beautiful antiques and knickknacks to fill her home. Joann had a mischievous sense of humor, and an infectious laugh that could fill the room. Her family was her greatest joy, and she will be forever missed.

Joann is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Richard Zentz Sr.; sister, Carolyn (H. Wayne) Shafer; brothers, Steve (Deb) Kutch, Tim (Lisa) Kutch, Daniel Kutch and Garry (Sherri) Kutch; sons, Scott (Judy) Kutch and Richard (Yvonne) Zentz Jr.; granddaughter, Yasmine Zentz; grandson, Xavier Zentz; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Joann was preceded in death by infant brothers, Jeffrey Scott Kutch and Mark Alan Kutch, who died at birth.

ZENTZ — Family and friends of Mary “Joann” Zentz, who died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2023, will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler. A service will immediately follow in the funeral home.
