Karen L. Rivers, 64, of Butler, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2023, at her residence while surrounded by her family.

Born in Butler on Oct. 17, 1959, she was a daughter of the late James R. and Verna (Thompson) Patten.

She was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, spending time with her family and her dogs.

Surviving are her husband, Anthony E. Rivers Jr., whom she married on Aug. 22, 1994; son, Anthony E. Rivers III of Butler; her daughter, Amber (Gary) Shoaf of Florida; and a son, Daniel Pollock of Butler. She is also survived by a brother, Patrick Patten of Butler; and her sister, Jaince Patten.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Brion Patten.

RIVERS — Friends of Karen L. Rivers, who died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2023, will be received from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. A blessing service will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be at the Rose Hill Cemetery.
