Joyce E. (Fennell) Sasse, 84, of Butler, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, Nov. 23, 2023, at 11:50 a.m., at Concordia Lutheran Ministries at Cabot.

She was born on July 4, 1939, in Butler, and was the daughter to the late William Fennell and Irene (Ferne) Fennell Udell.

Mrs. Sasse worked at FW Woolworth, Garden Gate Restaurant, Butler Custom Catering, Eppingers and Tanglewood Senior Center, and she managed Roxy's Diner for 11 years. She was a member of the Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church. Joyce enjoyed playing bingo, feeding birds, baking and spending quality time with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Sasse is survived by her two sons, Robert Sasse and James (Jennifer) Sasse; her daughter, Linda (John) Krajnikovich; five grandchildren, Jordan Krajnikovich, Alexi Krajnikovich, Allyson Krajnikovich, Braelyn Sasse and Camryn Sasse; her brother, David (Nancy) Fennell; her two sisters, Marlene Green and Ann (William David) Curtis; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Sasse; her sister, Catherine Jack; and her stepfather, Gladstone Udell.

SASSE — Friends of Joyce E. (Fennell) Sasse, who died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2023, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Joel Dieterichs officiating.

A private burial will take place in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
