Herrera-Rondon scores upset on mat
CLARION — Seneca Valley graduate Alejandro Herrera-Rondon, wrestling at 157 pounds for Clarion University, scored an upset win over West Virginia’s Caleb Dowling during a recent dual match.
Herrera-Rondon won the match by major decision, 10-0. He entered the match ranked 33th nationally in his weight class. Dowling was ranked 24th.
Knoch grad Fraser earns PAC honors
GROVE CITY — Knoch graduate and Grove City College senior wide receiver Scott Fraser has been named first-team All-Presidents’ Athletic Conference for the second successive year.
Fraser ranked second in the PAC with 59 receptions this season, accumulating 877 yards and nine touchdowns. He is second all-time at GCC with 191 career receptions and 2,835 receiving yards.
Washington & Jefferson offensive lineman Eddie Nicotra, a North Catholic graduate and Cranberry Township resident, and W&J senior kicker Ricky Hunter, a Freeport graduate, made honorable mention.
