Mary Belle Davison McMillen, 90, of Evans City, died Friday morning, Nov. 17, 2023, at Passavant Community in Zelienople. She was the only child of the late Perry D. Davison and Frances M. Choura Davison.

She was born Dec. 9, 1932, in Mars and graduated from Mars High School in 1950. She attended Slippery Rock College in conjunction with Butler Memorial Hospital Nursing School. She graduated from Pittsburgh Comptometer School. She worked for Reick-McJunkin Dairy in Pittsburgh. She also worked for Beltone Hearing Aid Center in its Zelienople and Butler offices for 12 years, retiring in 1994.

She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Evans City, a member and past Matron of the Mars Chapter 271 Order of the Eastern Star, past president of Past Matrons Club in Mars and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post in Evans City.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean R. McMillen, whom she married on Dec. 6, 1950, in Winchester, Va., and who passed away on March 2, 2018.

She is survived by her four children: her eldest son Larry and his wife, Joyce, of Pittsburgh and their children, Ryan and his wife, Anya, and their children, Cora and Jonas, Michael and his wife, Julie, and their sons, Christian and Brady, and Andrew and his wife, Rebecca; her second son Craig of North Washington and his daughters, Kelley Thompson and her husband, Zachary, and their children, Caelynn, Cameron and Carson, Kristin McMillen and her fiancé, Gregory Beach, Heather McMillen and her fiancé, Nathan Hoshak; her third son Scott and his wife, Roberta, of Sandston, Va., and their children, Tabatha Zarkauskas and her husband, “Joe” or Joseph, their daughter Alexa, Jason McMillen and his wife, Krystal, and Andrea Miller and her husband, Troy, and their sons, Henrik and Oskar; and her daughter, Colleen Himmelwright and her husband, Gary, of Zelienople. She also is survived by three nieces, Carol (Louis) Short, Deborah Reed and Lisa (Kenneth) Lloyd; three great-nieces; one great-nephew; and many cousins.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Mitzi McMillen; and her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ardelle and Vernon Reed.

Mary Belle truly enjoyed her family and attended all the activities in which her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren participated. She enjoyed traveling and had visited all 50 states. There were many culinary specialties, but her pineapple upside down cake and meatloaf were two of the best.

MCMILLEN — Friends of Mary Belle Davison McMillen, who died Friday, Nov. 17, 2023, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Evans City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church or Evans City Library.
