Miller Minutes

Miller Minutes with Butler Eagle reporter, Molly Miller

Have you ever asked yourself why there are so many biopic movies and TV shows being produced lately?

Unfortunately, I don’t have the scientific answer to this question, but I do have a theory. Before I get to it, however, here’s another question: Why are there so many Elvis impersonators?

These questions are connected, I swear. I ask them because, in regard to both, I think people imitate what they admire. So, in a way, art builds off the art that came before it. Stories, dance, paintings, songwriting and any other medium you can think of is based on something previously produced.

We’re all products of the art we like, in some way, shape or form.

Perhaps there are so many Elvis impersonators because, well, he’s the king. Nobody could really do what he did in the exact same way, but it’s sure fun to try.

That is also probably why there are biopic movies about Mr. Rogers, Napoleon, Whitney Houston, you name them.

All this to say, I hope one day they make a movie about my life. It would be pretty interesting. Although, I doubt any actress extraordinaire could find you the same amazing events in Butler the way I could.
