William L. Protzman, 85, of Butler, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023, at UPMC Passavant-McCandless.

He was born March 26, 1938, in Summit Township, the son of the late Lester and Neta (Faux) Protzman.

Bill had owned and operated Bill's Radiator Repair in Butler for 27 years. He also worked at Lernerville Speedway, Pennsylvania Motor Speedway and various other tracks. He raced stock cars for many years and was a member of Pittsburgh Circle Track Club.

Surviving are his four daughters, Debra Protzman of Butler, Lisa Protzman of Arlington, Texas, Linda Protzman of Charlotte, N.C., and Nicole (John) Stevenson of Butler; his son, Douglas (Sue) Protzman of West Sunbury; six grandchildren; his sister, Dorothy Lippold of Grove City; and his companion, Debbie Bowser of Butler.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy May Protzman, who passed away on Nov. 14, 2015; his sisters, Ellen Sherman and Mary Elizabeth Protzman; and his brother-in-law, Ted Lippold.

PROTZMAN — Friends of William L. Protzman, who died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Jim Lewis officiating.

Interment will follow in the Gruenwald Cemetery, Butler.
