Ronald Brown
Ronald C. Brown, “Brownie,” 83, of Englewood, Fla., formerly of Butler, very peacefully passed away with family by his bedside at 6:40 p.m. Monday, Oct. 23, 2023.
Born on Oct. 18, 1940, in Butler, he was the son of Robert C. Brown and Elsie Weitzel Brown.
Ronald retired from Pullman Standard Railroad and was also self-employed.
Surviving are his loving wife of 40 years, Mary Carol Chettle Brown; his son, Ron Brown (Audra) of Butler; his daughters, Robin Perez of Butler and Raemie Brittingham (Britt) of Nevada; and stepdaughter, Deborah Darwin of north Florida. Ronald is also survived by his sisters, Bambi Lynn and Debra Brown, both of Butler; and a cousin, William King (Alice) of Slippery Rock; along with seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Ronald was a great man of God. He enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an active resident of Tangerine Woods Community of Englewood for 22 years. He served as a member of the Lazy Daze, making Tangerine Woods clean and beautiful. He enjoyed bocce, shuffleboard, tennis and golfing. He treasured his best friend, his wife, Mary Carol, and they enjoyed all of these things together.
He was an active member of Englewood Methodist Church and served as an usher.
A daughter, Sherry Lynn Preteroti, and a sister, Gwendalyn Weinberger, preceded him in death.
BROWN — There will be a service held for Ronald C. Brown, who died Monday, Oct. 23, 2023, at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2023, at Englewood Methodist Church, 700 E. Dearborn St., Englewood, Fla.
