Charles “Mike” English, 79, of Zelienople, passed away on Friday, Oct. 20, 2023.

He was born in New York, N.Y., on June 25, 1944, to the late John Sr. and Otilie (Germer) English.

Mike graduated from Strong Vincent High School in Erie, Pa. He also attended Gannon University and University of Mississippi. Mike was a successful businessman. He was the former owner of Tayana USA and The Sailyard of Erie, Pa. Mike ran yacht brokerages across the east coast. He was a very passionate worker and cared deeply about his close friends and family. He excelled for many years in business, leveraging his creativity in boat design, personable sense of humor and a drive for perfection.

Mike often could be found at sea in search of treasures. He enjoyed sailing, diving, auto racing, traveling, yachting, history and politics. He was also a member of the Erie Club.

Mike was the brother of Philip (Chris) English and Otilie English; and great uncle of Nathan and Miles English.

He was preceded in death by his brother, John English Jr.

ENGLISH — Services for Charles “Mike” English, who died Friday, Oct. 20, 2023, will be held privately through SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.
