Moniteau volleyball advances in D-9 playoffs
Marissa Pry tallied six kills, five blocks and five digs Wednesday night as fifth-seeded Moniteau scored a 3-1 win at fourth-seed Keystone in the District 9 2A girls volleyball playoffs.
The Warriors won the match 25-15, 21-25, 25-22, 25-19.
Davina Pry had an ace, seven kills and four blocks for Moniteau while Sydney Bayless contributed four kills and five blocks. Moniteau will travel to top-seeded Punxsutawney for a semifinal match at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 31.
Montour 3, Knoch 0 — The Knights ended their season at 13-6 with this WPIAL 3A playoff loss. Scores were 25-16, 25-18, 25-18.
Karlee Buterbaugh had six kills for Knoch while Sabrina Schlott had five blocks and Brynne Smith eight service points.
North Catholic 3, Indiana 0 — The second-seeded Trojanettes rolled to a 25-17, 25-15, 25-11 win to advance to the WPIAL 3A quarterfinals. North Catholic will face seventh-seeded Trinity, a 3-2 winner over Greater Latrobe.
Brooke Sciullo had 10 kills, Ella Koziara nine for North Catholic. Alex Sefcic had 11 digs.
South Fayette 3, Mars 0 — The Planets ended their season at 9-10 with this WPIAL 3A playoff loss. South Fayette (123-5) completed the sweep with a 25-11 win in the thrd set.
