Woods lifts Freeport to playoff win
Camryn Woods scored both of her goals in the first half as Freeport topped Beaver, 2-1, in a WPIAL Class 2A girls soccer first-round playoff Tuesday night at Freeport Stadium.
Samantha Liput contributed an assist and Alyssa Alcorn made a key save on a penalty kick.
The No. 4 Yellowjackets, who led 2-0 at halftime, improved to 15-1-1 on the season.
South Park 2, Knoch 1 (OT) — Kamryn Burtner tied the score in the second half, but the fifth-seeded Eagles prevailed at home in a WPIAL Class 2A first-round playoff.
Knoch’s season ends with a record of 8-7-2.
North Catholic 8, Woodland Hills 2 — In a Class 2A first-round playoff at Freedom High School, Simone Sharpless scored three times to lead the Trojanettes, who won their 11th consecutive game.
Makenzie DeBlassio scored twice and had one assist, Lauren Mealie had a pair of goals and Caroline Rivetti a goal and an assist for North (14-2).
