Charolette Goehring

Goehring

Charolette P. (Johnston) Goehring, 79, of Sigel, Pa., passed away on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2023, at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born Jan. 23, 1944, in Kittanning, she was the daughter of the late Vern and Mabel (Cogley) Johnston.

Charolette was a 1965 graduate of Freeport High School and worked as a picker for Moonlight Mushrooms for 12 years. She relished going to car shows, was an avid fan of NASCAR, and was a member of Wheels of Yesteryear car club. She also enjoyed camping, traveling to Florida and football, especially the Steelers. More than anything, those closest to her will remember Charolette as a sparkly woman who loved her “bling.”

Charolette is survived by two daughters, Mrs. John (Charlotte) Lokhaiser of Butler and Barbara Miller of Ruther Glen, Va.; one son, Joseph (Evie) Berry of Sarver; two stepdaughters, Lynda Sabo of Butler and Mrs. David (Sharon) Zabicki of Chicora; her grandchildren, Katie, Patrick, Joey, Jessica, Clint, Jacob, Chad, Cody and Chelsy; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, the Rev. Dale (Judy) Johnston of Highpoint, N.C., and Harlon (Donna) Johnston of Caman, Ariz.; two sisters, Mrs. Ray (Connie) Kelly of Sarver and Mrs. Richard (Gloria) Bowser of Templeton; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Berry; her second husband of over 35 years, Robert Goehring; two brothers, Clair and Jim; and one stepson.
