SV graduate Rea keys Rock upset

SLIPPERY ROCK — Seneca Valley graduate Ashley Rea scored a goal Wednesday in helping the Slippery Rock University women’s soccer team upset 18th-ranked Mercyhurst, 2-1.

The game marked The Rock’s first win against a nationally-ranked team since 2019.

SRU is 9-3-2 overall, 8-2-2 in PSAC West play, and returns to action at 1 p.m. Saturday at Indiana (Pa.).

DeGraaf shines in GCC volleyball win

LATROBE — Seneca Valley graduate Anna DeGraaf, a senior on Grove City College’s women’s volleyball team had a season-high 15 kills Wednesday night in a 3-0 victory at Saint Vincent.

DeGraaf had a team-high four blocks as well. Butler graduate Gabby Lucas had 11 digs as GCC improved to 17-8 overall, 3-3 in conference play.

The Wolverines host Bethany at 6 p.m. next Wednesday.

Freeport grad Lampus keys Titans victory

NEW WILMINGTON — Freeport graduate and Westminster College senior volleyball player Lauren Lampus had a season-high 18 kills on Wednesday in helping the Titans defeat Chatham, 3-1.

Lampus added seven digs for Westminster (13-10, 3-3).
