McBride

Monica M. McBride, 96, of Butler, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2023, to join her departed husband in heaven for their 74th wedding anniversary.

Born at home, on South Home Avenue in Butler, on April 23, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Anthony McKruit and Mary Bembenek McKruit.

Monica was a member at All Saints Parish, St. Conrad Roman Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Christian Mothers and Women of the Bible groups. She retired from Bell Telephone in 1983 after serving as a long-distance telephone operator, beginning her working years in Cleveland, Ohio. In retirement, Monica became a volunteer at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Monica was an immaculate housekeeper and took pride in maintaining her gardens and blueberry bushes. She will be remembered for being an excellent cook; her love for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her love of coffee and sweets; and for teaching her three grandchildren how to make pierogies and sing Polish songs. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.

Monica leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Cynthia Koehring of Butler; her three grandchildren, Danielle (Lewitt) Beyale (Koehring) of Valencia, Devin (Dana) Koehring of Murrysville and Spencer Koehring of Nashville, Tenn.; and her four great-grandchildren, Avanee and Breckley Beyale and Lydia and Parker Koehring.

In addition to her parents, Monica was preceded in death by her husband, W. Dean McBride; her son, Dean E. McBride; her 10 siblings, Walter, Frances, Andrew, Louis, John “Butch,” Stanley, Wanda, Genevieve, Vada and Josephine; and a son-in-law, Douglas Koehring.

The family would like to thank the entire staff of Quality Life Services in Sarver for their loving and sincerely gentle care of Monica. Additionally, they express gratitude to Three Rivers Hospice.
