Primary elections should remain closed

As we near the next primary, I am amused as to why third party individuals feel they have a right to vote for a candidate outside their party. Do they not understand what a primary is? It is simply an organization whose members decide who will represent them in the next general election.

To allow outsiders to have a say in their selection is ridiculous. As an example: Do Lutherans have a say on who the next pope is? Does the local knitting club select the next VFW president? Do the Green Bay Packers select the Steelers team captain? Does the Navy promote the next Army general? Shall I go on?

Look, people, wants and desires are not rights; no one is being denied anything. If you want to vote in the primary, just join one of the major parties.
