Leaf lovers invited to ramble through woods
The Butler chapter of the North Country Trail Association and Jennings Environmental Education Center will host a Fall Foliage and Autumn Wonders Walk beginning at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, at the environmental center, 2951 Prospect Road., Brady Township.
Environmentalists will discuss the transformation occurring in the fall forest and autumn’s abundance and activity therein.
The walk will cover a half-mile of varied terrain that is rated “easy” for those who are able to move over sloping or uneven surfaces.
A 3- to 4-mile hike along the North Country and Jennings trails will follow for those who are interested. The hike will be led by Dave Adams.
Those planning to attend should dress for the weather, including sturdy hiking boots or shoes, and bring bug spray, sunscreen, water and snacks if desired.
Updates on potential cancellation due to weather are available by searching “Butler County Pa Chapter North Country Trail Association” on Facebook.
Registration is required by Saturday, Oct. 14, and can be completed by emailing name, phone number and email address to but@northcountrytrail.org. Please include a note if planning to attend the hike after the program.
