Miller Minutes

Miller Minutes with Butler Eagle reporter, Molly Miller

If you’re reading this column on Thursday, Oct. 12, that means tomorrow is Friday the 13th.

Pop culture has deemed this one of the spookiest days, full of misfortune, and the fact that it takes place in October this year adds to the eeriness. This Friday the 13th is the second (and last) of 2023.

The superstitious among us would probably hide away in our homes for fear of something occurring, while others may tempt fate, doing something particularly risky on that day. Part of the aversion to Friday the 13th could be the popular films of the same name, or the fact that it’s considered bad luck in Norse mythology.

Whatever your take is about the day, you can rest assured that there are plenty of events going on in and around Butler County for your enjoyment. Check them out here!

The Musical Theatre Guild’s production of “9 to 5: The Musical,” a show written by Dolly Parton, opens at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at the Succop Theater on the Butler County Community College campus. Shows continue throughout the weekend, and tickets cost $18, available at mtgbutler.org.
