Frederic Bell
Frederic C. Bell, 82, of Butler, formerly of Boyers, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2023, at Allegheny General Hospital.
He was born March 23, 1941, in Boyers, the son of the late Lewis and Gladine (Walls) Bell.
Fred was a 1959 graduate of Moniteau High School and a 1962 graduate of Duff's Business School. He was formerly a member of St. Alphonsus Parish and most recently St. Faustina Parish and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was one of the founding members of Marion Township’s Little League in Boyers. He was an avid fundraiser for Marion Township Volunteer Fire Department along with being a longtime secretary and treasurer for Marion Township. Fred worked for the Pittsburgh Athletic Association in the early 1960s and then worked for National Storage in Boyers. He finished his working career at Armco Steel in Butler, where he worked in the melt shop from 1965 until his retirement in 1999.
Fred enjoyed spending his free time hunting, fishing, gardening, taking family beach vacations, playing cards and traveling with friends. Out of everything, Fred most enjoyed being the BEST Papa to his eight grandchildren, and he never missed any of their activities.
In addition to his wife of 62 years, Antonetta (Niro), Fred is survived by his son, Randy (Sharon) Bell of Apopka, Fla.; his three daughters, Robin (Rob) Bowser of Butler, Jocelyn (Michael) Kondos of Evans City and Cindy (Ryan) Morton of Butler; along with his grandchildren, Emily (Bowser) Schreiber and her husband, Edward IV, Brett Bowser, Zoie Kondos, Abbey Kondos and her significant other Peter Record, Bailey Kondos, and Ethan, Brynn and Noah Morton. He is also survived by his niece, Sharon Sanderson; and great-nieces, Megan and Erin Sanderson of Minneola, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Georgia Deal; and sister-in-law, Rita Blair; as well as his best friend, Nando Tomei, with whom he went on many adventures.
BELL — Family and friends of Frederic C. Bell, who died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2023, will be received for visitation from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at WILLIAM F. YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 132 Main St., West Sunbury. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Louis Church, 202 W. State St., West Sunbury with Father Sean Francis officiating. Burial will be in Epiphany Cemetery, Deer Road, Boyers.
