Ronald R. Thiry, 70, of Harrisville, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 8, 2023, at the Sugar Creek Rest Nursing Home.

Born April 5, 1953, in Kittanning, Ron was the son of the late Robert and Anna Marie Thiry.

Ron graduated from Reynolds High School. He worked as an over-the-road truck driver.

On Jan. 12, 1974, Ron married Marjorie Bovard, who preceded him in death in 2018.

Ron enjoyed traveling with his wife, camping, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren.

Loved ones left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Jennifer Thiry of Harrisville; his son, David Thiry and his wife, Jackie, of Harrisville; his grandchildren, Joseph, Kierra and Makayla Thiry of Harrisville; and his siblings, Robert Thiry of Sharpsville, Mark Thiry of Richfield, Ohio, Larry Thiry of Ford City and Christina Boylstein of Ford City. Three brothers-in-law also survive, Brian Bovard of Texas, Robert Kirkwood of Ford City and Bill Bovard and his wife, Theresa of Harrisville.

Ron was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie; his parents, Robert and Anna Marie; and a sister, Dixie Kirkwood.

THIRY — Family of Ronald R. Thiry, who died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2023, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and also from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at JAMISON-MCKINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 117 N. Main St., Harrisville. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Pastor Lee Bowser officiating.

Interment will take place at Prairie Cemetery, Harrisville.
