Kevin Frost
Kevin Michael Frost, 59, of Butler and East Brady, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, with family members lovingly by his side. He was born Nov. 3, 1963, to George S. and Ella Julian Frost.
Kevin graduated from Butler High School in 1981 and worked as an auto mechanic at Montgomery Ward before spending many years as a steelworker at Armco/AK Steel.
He loved working with his hands. Whether tinkering on a car or boat, building decks, wiring lights or contraptions, or helping friends build or renovate homes, Kevin had an amazing ability to fix or build just about anything. He was clever and resourceful.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Kevin. For almost 40 years, he spent spring and summer in East Brady. He loved river life, boating and water sports. He provided family and many friends with hours of enjoyment on the river or at his camp, sitting by a fire after a day at Red Bank and hanging out with friends. He loved to travel around the country to boat races and NASCAR races with a crew of special friends, often taking his beloved nephew, Colton, along with him. Kevin was very instrumental in helping raise his nephew, Colton. He instilled in him at a very young age the importance of working hard and helping anyone in need.
Kevin was strong-willed and stubborn at times, but he also had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. Known fondly by many as “frosty,” Kevin was very generous and loyal, and will be forever remembered for all the heart he shared with his family and friends. He truly loved each of them, and if you had the pleasure to know Kevin, you knew it.
Kevin is survived by his loving parents, George and Ella Julian Frost of Butler; his sisters Carla of Pittsburgh and Dionne of New Orleans, La.; his brother, Doug (Janet), and sister Karen, of Butler; his niece, Lexis Frost, and nephew, Connor Frost, of Pittsburgh, and nephew, Colton Frost, of Butler, and a host of numerous relatives and extended family and friends.
Kevin will be missed by his family and friends, but the many fond memories of times spent with Kevin throughout his life will be forever remembered and cherished.
FROST — To honor his wishes, no funeral services will be held for Kevin Michael Frost, who died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023. A celebration of his life party will take place in the near future.
