Helicopter called to scene of motorcycle crash in Brady Township

BRADY TWP — A motorcyclist was flown to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh after he was hit by a truck near the intersection of Centreville Pike and Duffy Road a little before 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4.

The man was trapped under the truck and had to be extricated. Ryan Hanchosky, chief of Slippery Rock Volunteer Fire Company, said the man was alive when rescued from under the truck.

Initial calls for the crash came in shortly before 5 p.m., and a helicopter was dispatched to the scene at 5:03 p.m.

Roadways near the intersection of Route 8 and Centreville Pike as well as Duffy Road and Centreville Pike were closed. The roads reopened shortly before 6:30 p.m.

Slippery Rock VFC, Unionville VFC and the state police responded to the crash.
