BUTLER TWP — The Butler County Community College volleyball team split a pair of matches at home Saturday, the Pioneers defeating Anne Arundel, 3-0, and dropping a 3-2 decision to Kent State.

Match scores against Anne Arundel were 25-15, 26-24, 25-22. Aryana Girvin led the Pioneers with 15 kills, Johnna Hill and Lexi Ruckdeschel getting eight each. Nina Szymanski had 22 digs, Hill adding 17. Rosie Carden tallied 32 assists.

Match scores against the Kent State Golden Eagles were 25-20, 12-25, 25-16, 7-25, 10-15. Girvan had 12 kills, Ruckdeschel seven. Girvan added 16 digs, Alyssa Gallagher eight. Carden had 24 assists.

BC3 (12-5) hosts Penn Highlands Community College at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
