Moniteau bows to Bradford on road

Kole Scott had 43 yards rushing and a touchdown on nine gives — and also led the Warriors with 22 yards receiving on three grabs — but Moniteau (1-5, 0-4) fell short on the road against the Bradford, 40-21.

Ashton Grossman caught Brendin Sankey’s one passing touchdown, while Sankey ran for another.

On defense, Sankey had a seven tackles and a fumble recovery. Blaine Jamison had five stops and a pick.

The Warriors host Central Clarion next Friday.

Redbank Valley 50, Union/A-C Valley 6 — The unbeaten Bulldogs jumped out to a 31-0 first-quarter lead in Rimersburg.

Quarterback Braylon Wagner passed for three touchdowns and ran for another.

The Falcon Knights’ lone score came in the fourth period on a 70-yard run by Owen Bish, who finished the game with 88 yards.

Union/A-C Valley (3-3, 3-1) visits Port Allegany next Saturday.

Armstrong 21, North Catholic 20 — Jack Fennell punched it in two times and Danny Franco once for the Trojans (3-3, 2-1), who led, 20-7, at the midway point. Gavin Kamody and Jason Siket had interceptions that prevented scores in the first half, but the River Hawks — starting freshman passer Jaydon Oliver — capitalized on a mistake later in the game.

A muffed punt allowed Oliver to connect with Nicholas McNeeley from 15 yards out in the third, pulling the visitors within six. Kyan Kline scored the winning touchdown with 2:34 to go in the same quarter.

South Side 56, Summit Academy 7 — This Big 7 Conference loss dropped the Knights to 0-6 overall and 0-3 in league games.

Girls Volleyball

Ella Nicotra tallied 21 kills, five aces and nine digs as Mars outlasted Knoch, 3-2, in a section match Thursday night. Match scores were 25-19, 25-23, 19-25, 14-25, 16-14.

Lily Javor produced 14 kills and 12 digs for the Planets while Haley Duker had 40 assists and seven digs, Cecelia Christy 10 kills.

Karlee Buterbaugh led Knoch with 22 kills. Jess Farbacher had seven kills, 22 digs and 14 service points, Avery Adams 19 digs. Knoch slipped to 9-3 overall, 5-2 in section play.

Girls Soccer

Macrina Robb had two goals and two assists as Knoch shut out Apollo-Ridge, 9-0, recently. Emma Sklusser had two goals and an assist, Kamryn Burtner and Brooke Galcik scored two goals each, Izabella Oskin a goal and assist.

Lauren Bowser had two assists. Hannah Klemm made two saves in goal; and Izabella Rock one.
