Anita Popolis
Anita Popolis, 60, of Kittanning, passed away Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023, at her residence.
Born Nov. 11, 1962, she was the daughter of Thor Andersen and Yvonne Williams Andersen.
Anita attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania where she earned a BSN and an MSN. She was employed at ACMH as an ICU nurse. She also taught nursing at Lenape Tech and Butler County Community College. After teaching, she worked as a supervisor in various nursing homes.
Anita enjoyed spending time with her dog, reading and prayer. Above all, she enjoyed time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis; her daughter, Brittany (Adam) Smeal of Buckey, Ariz.; her son, Jordan (Maria) Popolis of Sligo, Pa.; her grandchildren, Oliver Smeal and Sophia Smeal; her twin sister, Angela (Bert) Collins of Butler; her sisters, Leslie Andersen of Bradenton, Fla., Terry Werner and Marybeth Stafura of Butler, and Lisa (Rock) Kellerman of Butler; her brother Charles (Cheryl) Kutan of Galvastan, Texas, as well as a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her brother, John Andersen.
POPOLIS — Visitation for Anita Popolis, who died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023, will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at MANTINI FUNERAL HOME, Ford City.
A funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. at the funeral home with Father Eric Dinga officiating.
Interment will be held at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
