Joseph A. Fisher, 77, of Renfrew, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 14, 2023, with his family by his side.

Born May 11, 1946, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Joseph Ralph Fisher and Helen Elizabeth (Zahringer) Fisher.

He was employed for 37 years as a clerk at the Allison Park Post Office and also worked for Pennsylvania Fine Wine & Good Spirits stores in Butler County. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening, golfing and watching sports. Joe will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Diane (Reggie) Fisher, whom he married on Dec. 10, 1977; his children, Lacey Elizabeth Fisher of Willowick, Ohio, and Master Sgt. Lisa Jo Fisher-Delaney, U.S. Air Force, of Dayton, Ohio; his two grandchildren, Emma and Caleb; his sister, Barbara Jean Shideler of Pittsburgh; his sisters-in-law, Dorrie L. Pacoe of Butler and Ginny Fisher of Cranberry Township; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his brother, Richard J. Fisher.

FISHER — A gathering of family and friends of Joseph A. Fisher, who died Thursday, Sept. 14, 2023, will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER OF CONNOQUENESSING TOWNSHIP, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew. A memorial service will immediately follow with Pastor Reid Moon officiating.

Joe proudly served our country in the 9th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was awarded a Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars for his service.

Joe will be laid to rest with full military honors at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville, Pa., at 2 p.m. Monday.
