Irwin

Margaret A. “Peg” Irwin, 89, of Mars, passed away on Friday morning, Sept. 15, 2023, at Mercy Hospital after a fall at home.

Born in Freeport on Aug. 4, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Ruth Moss Trefelner.

Peg was an operator and worked in the repair department of North Pittsburgh Telephone Company, now Consolidated Communications.

She was a member of St. Kilian Church, where she was a member of the Ladies of Charity and was an avid bowler.

Surviving are her son, George H. Irwin of Mars, and nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry V. Irwin, whom she married on April 4, 1959, and who died on Jan. 24, 1996; and by her siblings, Mary Ruth Harbison, Joan Morrone, Bernadette Trefelner, Francis Trefelner and James Trefelner.

Irwin — Friends of Margaret A. “Peg” Irwin, who died Friday, Sept. 15, 2023, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the McDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Kilian Church, 7076 Franklin Road, Cranberry Township. Please meet at the church.

Burial will be in Pinewood Memorial Park, Cranberry Township.
