James Prager

James H. Prager Sr., 83, of Butler, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2023, at his home.

Born Feb. 24, 1940, in Shaler Township, he was the son of Ralph J. Prager and Edna Shimpeno Prager.

Jim was a longtime dairy farmer and owner of Windy Springs Farm. He formerly was a building contractor. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Sarver. Jim enjoyed playing the concertina, listening to polka music, reading and history.

Surviving are his brother, Thomas Prager, of Pittsburgh; two sisters, Jean Stellitano and Donna Prager, both of Pittsburgh; his sister-in-law, Joyce Smith Anderson, of Pittsburgh; also a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Judith L. Prager; his son, James H. Prager Jr.; one brother, Ralph Prager; and one sister, Marilyn Prager.

PRAGER — Friends of James H. Prager Sr., who died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2023, will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at FOX FUNERAL HOME, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Robin Swinsburg officiating.

Interment will follow in Lakewood Memorial Gardens.
