On Thursday, Sept. 21, veterans and their families are invited to a showing of the movie “Suicide: The Ripple Effect“ at 2 p.m. at the VA Butler Healthcare system’s campus on North Duffy Road, Center Township.

The film, released in 2018, focuses on the lasting effects that one suicide attempt can have on other people. The subject of the film is Kevin Hines, who survived his attempt to take his own life by jumping from the Golden Gate Bridge.

The following Thursday, the VA Butler Healthcare system will hold A Walk to Remember, also at the North Duffy Road campus, from noon to 2 p.m. Participants will walk to remember those lost to suicide. This event will also feature a resource fair.
