Butler’s girls volleyball team went 5-1 in pool play and finished in third place in their home Spikefest Tournament Saturday. The Golden Tornado downed McDowell in the quarterfinals before bowing to eventual champion Serra Catholic in the semifinal round.

Audrey Lehman totaled 29 kills, 10 aces, and 14 digs, while Sarah Szebalskie had 20 kills, three aces, and five digs. Channing Popovich added 13 kills and four blocks.

Butler visits Fox Chapel Tuesday.

Girls Soccer

Camryn Woods had a pair of markers for Freeport and Samantha Liput, Nia DiSanti, Natalia Urik, and Marcy Mattivi had one each in a commanding 6-0 win against Steel Valley Saturday. Woods scored another four goals Sunday as the Yellowjackets beat Central Valley, 5-1. Kendyll Shreckengost added another score in that one.
