Freeport golfers improve to 8-1
Matt Ziembicki-Reedy carded a 38 for medalist honors as Freeport’s golf team rolled past Penn Hills, 199-275, Thursday at Buffalo Golf Course.
Jayden Ziehl added a 39 for the Yellowjackets, who improved to 8-1 on the season.

KSAC Mega Match — Clarion won this eight-team event at Hunter’s Station Golf Course as Kameron Kerle and Keystone’s Talon Wilson shared medalist honors with 34. Joe Rapp of A-C Valley/Union shot a 37 to place fifth.
Moniteau had three golfers — Dawson Wallace, Chason Delarosa-Rugg and Cade Barger — shoot 41. The Warriors finished fifth as a team with 212, 16 strokes behind Clarion. A-C Valley/Union was sixth with 218.
District 10 Region 2 at Sharpsville — Grove City won with a team score of 348, two strokes in front of West Middlesex. Caden Bender of West Middlesex was medalist with a 74.
Slippery Rock finished fifth out of six teams with a 448. Tyler Rice carded a 98 to pace the Rockets.
Girls Tennis
Seneca Valley swept the doubles matches to rally for a 3-2 victory over Oakland Catholic on the road. The Raiders are 4-2 on the season.

Max Kovacik scored two goals and Alex Cagle had two assists as Slippery Rock defeated Sharpsville, 4-2.
Jesse Gahring and Collin Wimer also scored for the Rockets (2-0). Goalkeeper Josh Books made five saves. Slippery Rock plays at Mercer on Tuesday.
Mars 4, Armstrong 0 — Landon Rocke scored two goals for the Planets in this victory.
Knoch 8, Freeport 0 — Sam Caldwell scored four goals for the Knights. Austin Friedline added a pair, Duncan Schilpp and Evan Haas one each.
Girls Soccer
Camryn Woods scored a pair of goals as Freeport defeated Deer Lakes, 3-1. Samantha Liput also scored for the Yellowjackets.
Girls Volleyball
Seneca Valley kept rolling with a 3-0 victory over Baldwin. No further details were provided.
Keystone 3, Karns City 1 — The Gremlins won the first set, 25-12, but Keystone took the last three by scores of 25-21, 25-19, 28-26. Ava Fox had nine kills and nine digs for Karns City. Haylie Karenbauer had seven kills and three blocks, Nicole Taylor 15 digs and two aces, Kendall Ritzert nine assists and eight digs, Ashley Mauer eight assists and seven digs.
