Wilbert J. “Gooch” Foertsch, “Will,” 73, of Hurricane, W.Va., formerly of Butler, died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2023, after losing his battle with ALS.

Wilbert worked on the family farm, at Pullman Standard, drove a tractor-trailer and was a bus driver for Greyhound. He then worked as a supervisor at Panasonic Electronics in Tennessee until he retired.

He was known for having fast cars and was an excellent mechanic. He traveled the world with his partner to all seven continents. He will be remembered for his wit and endless kindness.

He leaves behind his partner, Larry A. Calhoun, of Hurricane, W.Va.; his brothers, Vernon, of Saxonburg, Errol, of Butler, and Gary (Barb), of Cabot; his sisters, Leona Wills, of Mars, Mary A. (George) Shuler and Karen Foertsch, of Butler, Betty (Charlie) Kirkwood, of Charleston, W.Va., and Cay (Bob) Wood, of West Virginia; and many loving nieces and nephews.

FOERTSCH — Burial for Wilbert J. Foertsch, who died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2023, will be private in Hurricane, W.Va.

Arrangements are by CHAPMAN FUNERAL HOME, Hurricane, W.Va.
